It all started in 2020 at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In the first semester of the pandemic, we attended a seminar during our master’s degree in which students came together in teams, came up with a business idea in a competitive format and wrote a business plan for it. The results are presented to an expert jury, the winning team is encouraged - in cooperation with the universityincubator - to continue working on the idea parallel to the ongoing studies. As the pandemic forced people into their own homes, we saw how changing consumer behavior was exacerbating already existing environmental problems. Online retail still largely relies on environmentally harmful packaging solutions such as styrofoam or plastic air cushions. Our answer was: straw. That also convinced the jury. The six-month Hessen-Ideen scholarship followed, which allowed us to continue the project during our studies. After graduation we started prototyping, we professionalized ourselves and prepared our market entry. The very full year 2022 ended with a special highlight for us - we were the winners of the Hessian start-up award in the category "Start-up from the university". So we started the new year 2023 motivated, in which we would like to realize the market entry. For this purpose, we will move to our first production hall in Fluxum Gernsheim from February.
